Super Bowl

Tomorrow is the big day...isn't it? At least for football afficianados. Sure...I like football...but doesn't it seem that all the hoopla is way too much? Nonstop bombardments of commercials...media events and interviews. Sometimes I could just can the whole thing. It gets tiring. But I still like football...so I just hit the mute button for each SB related event...until tomorrow that is. My pick for the game would have to be the Seahawks. Not that they will win, but they are my pick. They have never been in the SB before and I love underdogs. The Steelers have 4 rings and have been quite mouthy lately about winning. I really don't like braggards...so a loss would serve up some well desrved humble pie.

In any case, it promises to be a great game. I imagine I will be over at my friends place o see it. He just got a 60" HD television...though his wife dosn't like it. Her loss...our gain.

Go Seahawks!!!!!!

Have you ever wondered what a Mediterranean Fruit Fly looks like? Here you go. This wild caught specimen came from Lakewood, California. Is it a sterilized released one...only the labratory will know for sure. Normally, sterilized med flys have a red dye on their backs or head. But this example has none. It is possible it could have washed it off. It awas sent to the labratory for testing. Next time someone claims they have a medfly...and it doesn't look like this. Tell them it is not a medfly.  Posted by Picasa

This is the bottom of the bowl. The dark areas are charcol residue. Around each of the 3 legs...are small man made bumps. How old is it? Don't know...but it does seem to be native american and indians have lived along the snake river for centuries.  Posted by Picasa

If you look inside this small bowl...you can see heavy staining and a worn down "groove" at the center. Probably worn from grinding and mixing berries, or plants. I have had this small bowl for a number of years.  Posted by Picasa

This small bowl was found along the Snake River near the Birds of Prey area in southern Idaho. You can see charcol residue on the bottom from being heated. Inside are stains and a very worn down area. Posted by Picasa

This is a second SUV used by drug runners that was being escorted by the Mexican Army. It got stuck in the Rio Grande and the Soldiers torched it.  Posted by Picasa
