Have you ever wondered what a Mediterranean Fruit Fly looks like? Here you go. This wild caught specimen came from Lakewood, California. Is it a sterilized released one...only the labratory will know for sure. Normally, sterilized med flys have a red dye on their backs or head. But this example has none. It is possible it could have washed it off. It awas sent to the labratory for testing. Next time someone claims they have a medfly...and it doesn't look like this.
