La Frontera y mas!

La Frontera....the border...as we gringos call it. Is it just me...or has there been more deadly shootings along the US/Mexico border this year than normal. Just yesterday, Border Patrol and CBP officers shot and killed a suspect at the San Ysidro port of entry. A couple of months ago, 2 CBP officer shot and killed a suspect at the Douglas, AZ port of entry. There have been other incidents too. This should illustrate to those deadwood politicians in DC that the border is an iherently dangerous place. When you mix people, drug and weapons smuggling...what do they think is going to happen?

For my 2 cents worth...just build the wall. A nice thick concrete wall. At least then...the illegals will have to really work at it...if they want to sneak in. Option number 2...annex Mexico. We declare that it is all US territory and continue the doctrine of manifest destiny. Hey...we have a large percentage of their population here already...might as well make it official. I sure would love to own a spread down around...Mazatlan! How about Cabo? Oh yea! Of course it is utter nonsense to annex Mexico...but it is a good conversation topic.

Lastly...to my own little "la fronterita" who is protecting us as we speak down in Arizona. Please keep up the good work. My heart and soul are with you each day. I will never forget you...as time means nothing to me. What shines in your eyes transcends all time. Lo siento mi amor...yo olvido la dia del madre...ahora pasado. I now sent to you a belated happy mothers' day. Tal vez...proxima tiempo...yo recuerdo! My soul of the moon.

Sigh.................

Oh....here is the tree.  Posted by Picasa

A large and knarled tree at Crystal Lake. Almost looks like it has eyes. Since the road had been closed for over a year, we had the whole mountain to ourselves. We had permission from the forest service to access the road. 35 miles from Los Angeles and no people but my cousin and I.  Posted by Picasa

I guess Jason was here. Nighttime on a closed road above Crystal Lake. Driving around with my cousin I spotted this unusual balancing rock. It is just as we found it. Never even touched it. The road this was on had been closed for over 1 year. Spooky! Posted by Picasa

Yes, there really is a Crystal lake. Hmmm...what movie was that...it had Jason in it....Oh!....Friday the 13th.  Posted by Picasa

The cactus plants in the Palm Springs area were in full bloom. This is from a trip there yesterday. Posted by Picasa
