Wow! Check out this adult male Ox beetle I raised from a grub. It just pupated and I discovered it hiding in it's rearing stratum. It is over 2 inches long. Nice and healthy. These beetles are endemic to Texas.  Posted by Picasa

William and Frances Sanders. A brother of my great, great grandfather on my mother's side. Purportedly they were related to Col. Harland Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame. If you look at him closely, he does resemble the "colonel" a bit. Picture was taken circa 1885. Posted by Picasa

An Obsolete INS Inspector badge. This is like the badge I wore in the INS. Of course, the INS has been abolished and all former legacy INS inspectors work in Customs and Border Protection, ICE or CIS. Those were the days.  Posted by Picasa

Just how big is Shelob? Well...as you can see here...her leg reach easily stretches from the top to the bottom of the tank. Check out the size of those fangs. She can overpower and consume large mice with ease. For the really strange...if you look at her abdomen...it appears to be an alien face with the eyes closed. Now that's strange. Posted by Picasa

My computer station at my cousins' office. Look closely and you can see Shelob in the tank on the desk. Shelob is my female Goliath Bird Eating Tarantula...the big brown spot in the center bottom of the tank...over 8 inches and growing!  Posted by Picasa

This fellow pretty much sums it all up...another dull, boring and crappy day. Wire in front and wire behind. Trapped in a world he didn't make. Just look at that face... Posted by Picasa

Check out this Tiger Swallow Tail butterfly sitting on a Lantana bush. This pic was taken with a fujifilm 2650 2.0 digital camera. I had the zoom on, but no macro setting.  Posted by Picasa
