Star Trek Enterprise

Yes...I am proud to admit that I am a common "trekkie". I have always loved the Star Trek series...particularly the old one with Capt. Kirk. It's too bad they are ending the latest incarnation...Enterprise...after just 4 years. What is really a shame is they waited until the series was almost over before airing their best episodes.

The one they had on last week..."Looking In A Mirror, Darkly"...is right off the old series with Kirk called "Mirror, Mirror". It basically involves a parallel universe with an "evil" Enterprise crew. The casting is excellent...and of course, the costumes the female crew members have to wear are outstanding! Besides being well written...the actors played their parts better than they had the last 4 years. I believe it is a 2 part program...with part 2 being aired tomorrow.

That is what I find so intriquing about the Star Trek franchise...they take on social, geopolitical and economic topics so relevent in our current society.
The good, the bad, the wicked, the illusions...it has all been covered over the years on each subsequent Star Trek series aired. It is a way for the producers to tackle serious questions about our own humanity...without offending any specific group. Political correctness is at an all time high...as people worry so much about offending others. The courts have been turned into de facto PS police. I hope they ressurect the Star Trek series again in a couple of years. Although after 30 years...the storylines can seen somewhat thin. Still...some bright mind out there will find a way. They always do.
